Andrea and Kevin

So excited to post these pictures:) My final wedding of the year. . bittersweet because I love the fun of capturing these special occasions but nice to be able to relax and enjoy the holidays and the quieter months of the Winter.

I am sure the Hopman family is feeling much the same as me. It was a busy year for them as well with two daughters getting married, first Yvonne and Jim  in July and then Andrea and Kevin this October!! A busy year but such a blessing to add two new son in laws to the family:) A huge thank you to Janneke Brakke who got some really fun shots in the morning of the guys as they got ready :) Andrea and Kevin it was a pleasure spending my final wedding of the year with both of you:) All the LORD’s blessings as you begin your life together:)

I love how most members of this wedding party seem to have NO problem at all, dumping their leaves on the bride and her white dress:)

Note to all groomsmen out there: If you get sick of thebride, just throw her in the dumpster!!!

Janelle and Brent

Well its December.. so far we have avoided snow but the holiday season is upon us and here I am still blogging weddings!! And thi sis not even my last one for the year. . Janelle and Brent thank you for being so very patient with me. . maybe your wedding feels like it was so long ago you forgot you even had a photographer . . lol ..  but never the less here they are. . and I hope you will agree that  they were worth waiting for :)

Janelle and Brent had an amazing day!! Once again , a Friday wedding – MY FAVE!! – we had so much time for pictures . For awhile I almost felt like I was running out of ideas!!! but all this time was amazing. . .we had a lot of fun with the wedding party , were able to get tons of variety with different locations for the pictures and still enough time to get back to the church and freshen up. . the weather was reasonably warm although Steff and I had to lend out our mittens and blankets to keep a few bridesmaids from getting too cold!! Yes, I would have to say that aside from a run in I had with a bit of doggy doodoo it was a great day!!

Thanks to both of you and your terrific wedding party for making my second last wedding of the year such a blast!! May the LORD bless all your endeavors as you live your life in Him!!

Oh this one makes me laugh. . every time I look at it!!

The tunnel was amazing. . and worth being almost run over several times:)

A Baby and his Family

Adorable . . right!!? Mr Sullivan was so cute all dressed up and ready to go for his three month session!!  We had to work pretty hard to get his smiles at first. . I guess he just wan’t in the mood. . but persistance paid off and we were able to get a really great range of expressions form this little guy!! As the youngest of four he must be used to lots going on but we still managed to tire him out. . midway he fell fast asleep in mommy’s arms which turned out to be the perfect cat nap before round two when mommy and daddy and his brothers and sisters joined him for pictures. Sullivan’s older brother Blake was quite the ham and kept a running conversation the enire time I was doing pictures. . so when I gave him the chance to star in front of the camera he was pretty excited and did a great job!!  Everyone smiled great and naturally . . it was hard to choose my favourites. . !! And the best part was that when we were all finished I got to bring home with me a fresh homemade loaf of bread that Andrea had been baking during the pictures. .it was still warm and so delicious. . and I have to be honest I couldn’t resist and ate more than a little on my car ride home. . lol. . so thanks Andrea for your talented bread making skills:)

When I was a teenager I actually lived on this same road. Seeing the kids getting off the bus and walking home it brought back such memories of my own days doing this very same thing. And then as I get older and more interested in photography dressing up my brothers and sisters and taking  them down the road to practice my photography skills and finally my  own wedding day where we had our pictures taken on the road with a really cool old fashioned car which is still hanging in my living room. . so like I said this road definietley took me down memory lane:)

Miriam and Mike

Mike and Miriam are so cute!! It took awahile to find a date that worked for both of us to have the engagement pictures taken but it was worth the wait because the afternoon we finally picked ended up being glorious and sunshiny. When Mike proposed he hid the ring in a box of ice wine and took Miriam on a picnic. . like I said . . too cute!!! We had a lot of fun roaming the ruins of Darnley Grist Mill, my new favourite photography location!! The wedding will be a Friday in June and I am so excited to spend it with such a great couple. Thanks to both of you!

Royal Wedding Part Two: Pumpkin Edition

I stole my title from Katherine’s Facebook page. . it was something she wrote a few weeks before the wedding and it made me smile!!  How fitting a description too!! Everything was very formal , complete with floor length bridesmaids dresses, gloves, hats on all the women , an Anglican ceremony that closely followed the old liturgy and a veil that was longer than Katherines was tall. These were the details that were paid special attention and it was beautiful:) Katherine and Michael were smiling and happy all day, and although the rain made everything a little damp and cold we had a great time with pictures, how could you not with that long veil and the amazing architecture of the church building!! Thanks to both of you for a wonderful day!! May you live a long happy life together!! Enjoy!

Engaged!! Alyssa and Eric

As each wedding season comes to an end its always a little bittersweet. Alll winter you look forward to the couples you can’t wait to photograph, the weddings you know are going to be rich in detail and the bridal parties that you have a feeling are going tobe a ton of fun!! And then its over!! Thebeauty of this however, is that righta round the same time the engagement sessions begin:0 I love engagement sessions, the chance to spend time with the couple, get used to each other and for them to get used to being in front of the camera!! I loved my morning with Alyssa and Eric, we started super early at an amazing location in Niagara Falls that Alyssa and Eric picked out! I never even knew all this amazing architecture was there even though I have been to Niagara Falls many many times!! Its amazing to realize what we have in our own back yards!! Eric and Alyssa are a great couple:) When I was going through the pictures and putting together the slideshow I kept laughing to myself, “behind” the scenes at many of the serious pictures they were actually laughing and having trouble keeping the “romantic” composure. . . Alyssa and Eric both had a ring, Eric’s was part of an Irish tradition, as a persons romantic status changes it is worn in different ways and on different fingers. Alyssa had given him the ring as a gift after three months of dating . . I know daring right? . . they must have been sure right from the beginning. . so cute!! To the two of you I am so happy to be able to spend your wedding day with you. Heres to the 2012 wedding season:)

Wonderful Family

This session was a lot of fun:) I am very familiar with the family as they are members of my church, but also the two girls Crystal and Chanelle are my kids babysitters!!! And let me say , they are the BEST!!!! My children absolutely adore these girls. Its the highlight of their day or night if they know Crystal or Chanelle are coming “to play.” The girls bring crafts , take them for bike rides to the park and play an amazing game of hide and go seek:) Both have put in many a long day at my house while I am off shooting a wedding and my husband has something on the go at the same time:) Please note however, that just because theyare amazing baysitters does not mean you can have them, so please no stealing. . lol!!  When they asked me to do some family pictures for them I knew exactly where I wanted to do them, a place I had been wishing to do pictures for a long time:) Their “backyard” . Over the years they have turned their far field into an amzing little camp area complete with two sheds full of bunk beds, two huge firepits, a pond and a trampoline. They call them the shacks, but they are definietley not run down. I understand this has been Dads project and so I was very happy to finally get to see it and take pictures there as well:) I love when pictures can be taken in a place that holds meaning and memories for a family, it makes them that much more special. Thats why the first family picture below is one of my favourites. Standing in their field with the buildings of their home and business in the back ground:) So neat!! Thanks Deboer family for giving me the oppurtunity to spend time capturing this time in your family’s life:) It was a lot of fun ( even with all of Corey’s monkey business!! ) lol:)
